My daughter has recently left Meon Springs nursery after 2 years and has gone onto her next chapter - school! For anyone looking for a pre-school to send their children, I would highly recommend Meon Springs Nursery. Having had a bad experience of a nursery, Gemma put my mind at ease straight away when we met. Gemma and her amazing team always put the children’s needs first and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time there! They use a great app, where they update your child’s progress and you can log in weekly and view the lovely photos and updates of the week they have had. My daughter has allergies - Dairy and soya intolerant and Meon Springs bent over backwards to make sure she had the same meals as the other children - she never went without and the home cooked meals were always a winner! It’s such a friendly warm environment were the children can be children and learn through play.

Laura, Meon Springs Parent.

You run an extraordinary, fantastic Nursary where every child is cared for as an individual and every parent feels informed and nurtured - a very rare thing.

Quote from a Meon Springs Parent.

At Meon Springs we offer a wide variety of stimulating activities, both inside and outside the classroom, designed to facilitate independent learning by the child.

Our children are encouraged to self select from among the resources displayed on open shelves as this best serves their individual interests, learning needs and their powers of engagement.

We provide a learning framework for your child using our Montessori equipment but also a range of resources to encapsulate the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Practical life enhances the development of task organisation and cognitive order through care of self, care of environment, exercises of grace & courtesy, and coordination of physical movement.

The sensorial area enables the child to order, classify, and describe sensory impressions in relation to length, width, temperature, mass, colour, etc.

Mathematics makes use of manipulative materials to enable the child to internalize concepts of number, symbol, sequence, operations, and memorization of basic facts.

Language art includes oral language development, written expression, reading, phonics, creative dramatics, and children’s literature.

Cultural activities expose the child to basics in geography, history, life sciences, music, art, and movement.

It is important to provide the child with an early foundation that includes a positive attitude toward learning, inner security and a sense of order, and pride in their environment.
